Walking Courtyards
Courtyards are traditional architectural features that go back to ancient times. They exist worldwide in different forms and for various social and environmental reasons. In this lecture, we will focus on two case studies, one in the north of Europe in Karlskrona, Sweden, and one in the south in Athens, Greece. The comparative research aspects would be aesthetics, social, and thermal comfort for both courtyards. The analysis of the courtyards would serve as a prelude to our walk in town through an itinerary of the courtyards on our way.
